Laboratory Activities

Learning at Home Works

Learning is not limited by location. You can learn anywhere, even at home.

As part of the laboratory requirement at Monte Vista Independent School you are expected to do two at-home labs. These labs need to meet the following criteria.

  • They must have significant scientific component
  • They must be safe 
  • You must document them with photographic evidence
  • A written report must be submitted
  • The activities you choose must be approved by your parents
Your report must include the following.
  • A full description of the project, including the chemistry involved
  • A photographic record as the project develops and is performed
  • Recording a data that may have been gathered
  • A discussion of the chemistry involved in the project
  • Your reports on each of the two activities must be turned in by April 15, 2016

After watching the following video and exploring the indicated website, select the lab activities you are going to perform.

Good Science Projects

Both reports are to be completed and handed in by April 10, 2016
